"This is where the heels hit the pavement"

Stewardship Of The Drop

If this is your first visit to Woman Not Waiting, Welcome! And please read Woman Not Waiting Unleashed and What Are You Not Waiting For? for some context first.

Here is a quote taken from the article “Decision” by Bob Proctor which I find inspiring and fitting with regards to the global water crisis our planet is currently facing.

“When John Kennedy asked Werner Von Braun what it would take to build a rocket that would carry a man to the moon and return him safely to earth, his answer was simple and direct. “The will to do it.” President Kennedy never asked if it was possible. He never asked if they could afford it or any one of a thousand other questions, all of which would have … at that time … been valid questions. President Kennedy made a decision … he said, we will put a man on the moon and return him safely to earth before the end of the decade. The fact that it had never been done before in all the hundreds of thousands of years of human history was not even a consideration. He DECIDED where he was with what he had. The objective was accomplished in his mind the second he made the decision. It was only a matter of time … which is governed by natural law before the goal was manifested in form for the whole world to see.”

Well, Houston, we have a problem. No one is making a decision. Humanity is stuck in ambivalence weighing the good, the bad, and the ugly. Meanwhile water is dripping.

Drip. Drip. Drip. Go the drops of time.

And click click click go those heels.

You’ve heard of the statement…it’s all about the shoes. I couldn’t agree more.

It’s all about where they came from, where they are now, and where they are headed.

Are they made of wood and clopping around clumsily from here to there, always threatening to fall off the owner’s feet?

Are they made of leather, softened through the years and molding to the shape of one’s own habits?

Is the sole made of hard plastic, starting out with a definitive stomp but wearing down through force of effort?

Is there a steel toe, a steel heel digging and digging into the road until an inescapable trench is formed— the proverbial rut?

Are they rubber-soled (or rubber-souled), nimble, pliable, and forgiving, ready to spring off any hard object that presents itself along the road,  ready to use the wall as a springboard towards greater heights? And boing! Look how high they have jumped.

Look how high you have jumped!

Whatever the shoes may be, wherever the shoes may go, the most important quality of all is not what they are made of  but who is in them.

So I ask you…What will it take to create a Stewardship Of The Drop?  A coordinated movement of all independent efforts from environmentally and socially motivated silos who currently work independently and sometimes against each other, that will return our water to her natural glory, filled with abundance and health?

I am not asking whether it is possible. Whatever a woman can conceive she can achieve.

I am not asking whether we can afford to do it. We cannot afford not to do it.

I am asking: Do we have the will to do it? Do YOU have the will to do it…One step at a time…One drop at a time.

One drop to rule them all,

One drop to find them,

One drop to bring them all,

And in the water bind them.

Please share your thoughts.

What are YOU not waiting for?

  1. Hi Kaz, when we spoke at GroYourBiz, I couldn’t quite place his name but, yes, I know who Bob Proctor is. I’ve heard him speak before. You might also like Gregg Braden. More than all of that, however, thank you for stepping into your purpose. “Decision” or lack of it truly is all that holds us back! Once you’re decided. Nothing can keep you back. Excited about what you will accomplish, through the books, games, movies and other realms of the Aguacene project!

    • Hi Crystal-Marie,

Thanks for the great comment. And yes! Greg Braden is also an influence. I actually went to see him speak when he came to U of T and passed him a copy of Nemecene. Love his philosophies.
